Have you read the frequently asked questions yet?

Why is African honey different from European honey?

Tanzania boasts an exceptionally rich biodiversity. Bees collect nectar from hundreds to thousands of wildflowers and plants. In Europe, this is limited by monocultures, pesticides, and cold winters. This makes African honey fuller, richer, and more powerful in flavor.

Does your honey contain pesticides or microplastics?

No. Our bees live in completely pristine natural areas in Tanzania, far from agriculture, industry, and pollution. Laboratory tests confirm that our honey is free of pesticides and microplastics.

My honey is crystallizing, is that normal?

Yes. Crystallization is a sign of pure, unprocessed honey. If necessary, briefly soak the jar in warm water to liquefy it. Processed or heated honey often doesn't crystallize.

How do I best use honey for health benefits?

For optimal benefits, we recommend taking 1 teaspoon daily (preferably with a wooden spoon). This ensures the body utilizes the natural enzymes, antioxidants, and nutrients consistently.

What types of lab tests have you performed?

Our honey has been tested by various parties for mold, diseases, nutritional values, moisture content, pollen content, heavy metals, etc. We have successfully completed all tests and have received a food safety certificate from the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). The honey has also been tested for authenticity. If the honey is mixed with sugar syrups, carrot syrups, or other sugar extracts, this must be indicated on the label with the term "mixed non-EU honey."

What is the difference between your honey and supermarket honey?

Our honey comes directly from local beekeepers in the pristine nature of Tanzania, without any artificial processing. What you often see in Europe is that honey is heated and mixed with syrup. This, of course, reduces the quality of the honey the bees have worked so hard to produce. Is your honey really pure and unprocessed?

Yes. The honey is hand-harvested, cold-processed, and contains all the natural enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen.

From what age can children use our honey?

Children should not consume honey until they are 1 year old, as honey can contain spores of the bacterium *Clostridium botulinum*, which can cause serious food poisoning and even death. Therefore, this information must be stated on the product label.

What do your bees eat? And do the beekeepers in Tanzania give the bees sugar?

The honey we sell is unprocessed and comes directly from Tanzania's pristine nature. The various areas are home to a variety of trees, plants, flowers, and shrubs, each with its own flowering season. Bees have ample opportunities to feed on a variety of flowers year-round. These optimal living conditions ensure that bees can survive well in these diverse areas without being fed by beekeepers.

Why is your honey so dark? And what's the difference between dark and light honeys?

The flowers in this pristine natural environment contain a higher concentration of antioxidants and minerals compared to lighter honeys. Several studies have also been conducted on the differences between dark and light honeys. You can read more about the research results online.
