Our Mission
Our mission is to reintroduce people to real, pure natural honey straight from pristine areas, produced by healthy bees in complete freedom.
We dream of a world where pure honey is once again the standard, where bees are protected and where beekeepers are fairly rewarded.
How one trip changed our view of honey forever
On our first trip to Tanzania, we tasted honey that changed everything: so pure, so rich, and so full of flavor that it was almost unlike anything we'd ever tasted in Europe. Amidst the miombo forests, the mangrove coast, and the slopes of Kilimanjaro, we discovered honey that truly came from nature, without pesticides, monocultures, or supplementary feeding.
That first spoonful was enough.
The energy, the flavor, the purity… we wanted to share this with those around us. We took three jars home with us.
Our family and friends tasted it and were immediately convinced. That's when De Honingwereld was born.
Collaboration with the BTI
This collaboration guarantees :
- Strict quality standards for export
- Pure, unheated honey
- Local support for beekeepers
- Trainings for new and existing beekeepers
- A sustainable process that protects nature and biodiversity
The honey is harvested by local beekeepers, after which BTI tests, filters, and processes it. Without heating or additives, only pure, natural honey remains.
We were even invited by the ministry to visit their office in Dodoma to discuss the future of our partnership. This trust is a tremendous honor for us.
